WELCOME TO YPOK

Porepunkah airfield is located two nautical miles south of the Porepunkah township in the stunning Buckland Valley, east of Mt. Buffalo National Park. The airfield is a mecca for recreational aviation enthusiasts and is home to general and recreational aircraft, trikes, sailplanes, paramotors and radio controlled models.

Radio use

Please note that any aircraft arriving or departing YPOK are required to broadcast their intentions and positions on VHF

126.0 MHZ.  We suggest broadcasting at 10, 5 and 3 miles inbound.  This includes powered and non powered aircraft. This is to foster a high level safety and situational awareness for all pilots.

Paragliders using this airfield

All pilots using YPOK should maintain a high level of vigilance and lookout for paragliders at all times. Paragliders are advised to broadcast on VHF 126.0 if in the vicinity of the airport and to avoid the circuit area unless planning to land or take off from YPOK.

Emergency services aircraft use this airfield.

All aircraft within the circuit area should broadcast their intentions.  No aircraft should cross the circuit area at heights that could interfere with arriving or departing aircraft or aircraft in the circuit.  Active circuit heights are 500', 1000' and 1500'.

Taxiway marker pegs.

There are a number of taxiway marker pegs placed between the windsock and the Northern Taxiway.  They are marked with white paint please be aware of them.

Porepunkah airfield is located in a noise sensitive area.  Pilots are asked to observe the fly neighbourly policy and other unique procedures for the airfield which can be found on this website.

PILOTS ARRIVING BY ROAD

Prior to using runway we request visiting pilots review Important Information and Register to Land at YPOK. 

Pilots arriving by road and using the airfield must obey all airfield signage, use a VHF radio and monitor CTAF 126.0 MHZ. Visiting pilot vehicles must remain clear of runway at all times and park in the public car park.

VISITORS

Visitors are welcome at the airfield however visitors must remain behind the runway safety fence. If you are meeting an incoming aircraft please wait in the the public car parks.

 

Dogs, ball games or camping are not allowed at the airfield. It is a condition of entering and using the airfield that you do so at your own risk and agree to abide by the PAA Policies & Procedures which can be found HERE
